Each option is designed to support safe, credible, and well-organized soccer environments while maintaining local flexibility and community leadership.

Club Membership

Club Membership is designed for youth or adult soccer clubs that operate multiple teams and manage programs across age groups.

This option is best for clubs that:

  • Register and manage multiple teams
  • Participate in leagues, tournaments, or FA-supported competitions
  • Want direct access to FA programs, services, and opportunities

Club membership supports both youth and adult clubs.

Before submitting an application, we recommend:

  • Confirming the structure of your club, team, or league
  • Checking whether your organization is already affiliated with FA through a league or partner
  • Connecting with your club administrator or league contact, if applicable

League Team Membership

League Team Membership is intended for teams that:

  • Are not part of an FA member club, or
  • Belong to a club that is not currently an FA member, but
  • Compete in an FA-sanctioned or FA-supported league

Under this option, only the teams participating in the league are registered with FA.

League Team Members have access to FA-supported competition opportunities but do not participate in FA governance.

Important Note

If three or more teams from the same club participate, full Club Membership is recommended.

Recreational Programs & Leagues

FA offers membership options for recreational (“rec”) programs and leagues that are primarily in-house or intramural in nature.

Recreational membership is well suited for:

  • Community-based leagues
  • Local recreational programs
  • Stand-alone rec organizations or rec divisions within larger clubs

Rec programs benefit from simplified processes, reduced administrative burden, and access to FA support and sanctioning where applicable.

FA LEAGUE REGISTRATION FORM

FA Tournament Team Membership

Tournament Team Membership is designed for teams that:

  • Are not part of an FA member club, and
  • Wish to participate in an FA-sanctioned tournament or championship competition

Tournament team registration allows teams to compete in specific events without full club membership.

Sanctioning Your Soccer Tournament

FA works with leagues and tournament operators seeking sanctioning, alignment, and support.

Sanctioning is available for:

  • Youth competitive leagues
  • Adult leagues
  • Recreational leagues
  • Tournaments and competitive events

Sanctioned leagues and tournaments benefit from FA recognition, standards, and access to FA-supported resources.
